Email marketing helps you sell to prospective and existing customers. When a users signs up to be on your list, you are giving them permission to market to you. That is the big key difference between email marketing and most other digital marketing techniques.
Once you have an email address you have a direct line to prospective customers. Your customer is a captive audience to your advertisement, just like direct mail. I know everyone is PPC and social media crazy right now – and for good reason – but let’s not forget the power of email. It’s still a way to get directly in front of a customer.
You can use email marketing in two main ways:
